The Jambo Mart supermarket building, one of the busiest retail establishments in Lubumbashi, caught fire on Thursday night. The first images of the fire began to circulate around 6:00 a.m., but the fire reportedly started much earlier, according to a witness on the spot. Until 9:00 a.m., the fire was still ravaging the space.
At around 5am, a team of firefighters arrived at the site to try to control the fire from the outside. “I noticed a huge fire inside Jambo,” the witness added.
At around 8:00 a.m., the firefighters had mastered the fire on the front where Jambo’s offices are located.The origin of the fire remains unknown at this time.
