Congolese zinc trades at USD 4,106.35 per tonne, up 0.85% on international markets

According to the same source, this increase falls within the period from September 21 to 26, 2026. Zinc is one of the marketable minerals whose prices are tracked weekly by the Congolese foreign trade administration.

An upward sequence over one month

Comparison with previous weeks shows a generally upward trend, despite a pause in late August. From August 24 to 29, 2026, a tonne of zinc traded at USD 3,815.65, compared with USD 3,819.85 the previous week, a decrease of 0.10%.

The trend reversed from the period of August 31 to September 5, 2026, with a price of USD 3,984 compared with USD 3,815 previously, an increase of 4.42%. From September 7 to 12, 2026, the metal continued its rise to USD 4,071.70, compared with USD 3,984.15 the previous week, a progression of 2.19%.

The period from September 14 to 19, 2026 confirms this movement, with zinc trading at USD 4,106.35 compared with USD 4,071.70, an increase of 0.85%, identical to that of the week under review.

Supply, demand and logistics

The price lists attribute these variations to supply and demand on international markets as well as to the supply chain. These fluctuations have a direct impact on the Congolese economy, which is heavily dependent on exports of raw materials, particularly in the mining sector.

The weekly monitoring of prices covers both marketable mining products and agricultural products and forest products.
