Air Congo Opens the Kinshasa–Muanda Route and Strengthens Kongo-Central Connectivity

Air Congo is continuing the expansion of its domestic network. The national airline inaugurated, on Friday, July 10, its first regular service between Kinshasa and Muanda, in Kongo-Central Province. This new route, operated once a week, is seen as a lever for the economic, tourism and commercial development of this strategic coastal city.
A New Boost for Muanda
After several years of waiting, the people of Muanda have welcomed Air Congo’s arrival with satisfaction. This new air connection now makes it possible to link Kinshasa to Muanda in less than one hour, compared with several hours by road, offering travelers a considerable time saving.
For Samy Phoba, a resident of Muanda, this inauguration marks an important step. He hopes that the route will be maintained over time and that its frequency will be increased in order to meet growing demand from users.
An Asset for the Local Economy
Local authorities see this service as a tool for opening up the area and accelerating development. The territorial administrator of Muanda, Amina Panda Kani, stressed that this connection will facilitate the movement of people, economic operators and investors.
Beyond passenger transport, this air connection should also stimulate commercial exchanges, promote tourism-related activities and improve access to administrative and economic services between Kinshasa and Muanda.
A Strategy to Expand the National Network
With the opening of this route, Air Congo confirms its ambition to strengthen domestic service and bring the country’s main cities closer together. This initiative is part of a broader dynamic to modernize national air transport, just a few days after the launch of its international route to Brussels.
The company thus intends to contribute to better mobility of people and goods, while supporting the government’s efforts to improve the economic integration of the national territory. The Kinshasa–Muanda route, scheduled every Friday, represents a new step in this strategy to reclaim Congolese skies and develop transport infrastructure.
