Congolese arabica coffee falls to USD 5.42 per kilo on the international market

The change falls within the week of September 21 to 26, 2026, during which the international price of a kilogram of arabica was brought down to 5.42 USD, according to the same source.

A sector concentrated in the East

National coffee production is centered on the shores of Lake Kivu, straddling North Kivu and South Kivu, in the eastern part of the country.

Revenue exposed to world prices

These fluctuations act directly on the Congolese economy, which is heavily dependent on exports of raw materials and agricultural products. The document consulted specifies that both the rise and the stability of prices for market mining products, agricultural products and forest products stem from supply and demand on international markets as well as the supply chain.

For stakeholders in the coffee sector in the two Kivus, a decline of 2.34% in one week reduces the value of volumes intended for export, in a context where public revenue remains tied to world prices for basic commodities.
