EITI-DRC: Jean-Jacques Kayembe Mufwankolo Reappointed to the International Board

Kinshasa, June 15, 2026 – Jean-Jacques Kayembe Mufwankolo, National Coordinator of EITI-DRC, has been reappointed to the International Board of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) for the 2026–2029 term.
His reappointment follows the electoral process organized within the Francophone Africa constituency. Jean-Jacques Kayembe Mufwankolo obtained the highest score in the election, with a total of 28 points, in accordance with Article 8 of the EITI Association Statutes.
This result reflects the renewed confidence of member countries in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s leadership in governance and transparency in the management of natural resources.
The new three-year mandate will allow the DRC to continue contributing to the strategic direction of EITI at the global level and strengthen its role in promoting transparency within the extractive industries.
The reappointment of Jean-Jacques Kayembe Mufwankolo also recognizes the progress made by the DRC in implementing transparency standards within the extractive sector.
