DRC announces access to the Claude artificial intelligence tool for its users

The Ministry of Digital Economy announced in Kinshasa the opening of access to Claude, a conversational assistant based on artificial intelligence, for users in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The stated objective is to promote training in new technologies, according to a ministry statement reviewed Wednesday by ACP.

According to this document, this development opens up prospects for students, researchers, developers, startups, businesses and public institutions, and reflects the government’s desire to democratize access to emerging technologies and support the national artificial intelligence ecosystem.

An approach to Anthropic

Access to Claude results from steps taken by the Ministry of Digital Economy with the American company Anthropic, which develops the tool.

The statement emphasizes the need for responsible, ethical and secure use. Users are invited to protect their personal and professional data, verify information produced by these tools, respect copyright and preserve human judgment in all decision-making.

Anthropic’s conditions and Congolese law

The use of Claude remains subject to the conditions established by Anthropic as well as compliance with Congolese legislation, the statement specifies.

Claude is a conversational assistant designed in particular to help users with writing, content analysis and programming.
