DRC: Félix Tshisekedi Appoints New Executives to Several Public Enterprises and Institutions
The President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, has carried out a major restructuring of the leadership teams of several public enterprises and institutions across the country. The new appointments were made public through a series of presidential ordinances read on national television on Wednesday.
This wave of appointments affects several strategic institutions operating in the fields of entrepreneurship, public finance, quality control, insurance, mining, population identification, and subcontracting.
Among the organizations concerned are the Congolese Control Office (OCC), the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI), the National Population Identification Office (ONIP), the Regulatory Authority for Subcontracting in the Private Sector (ARSP), and the Mining Fund for Future Generations (FOMIN).
Key Appointments Announced
At the DGI, the current Director General, Barnabé Muakadi Mwamba, has been reappointed, reflecting the authorities’ continued confidence in his management of the tax agency responsible for mobilizing fiscal revenues.
At the OCC, Patrice Nowa has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors, while the ONIP will now be headed by Marcellin Basengezi Mukolo.
Meanwhile, the ARSP will be led by Ted Beleshayi, whose mission will be to strengthen the implementation of subcontracting legislation in favor of Congolese businesses.
In addition, André Wameso has joined the Board of Directors of the Mining Fund for Future Generations (FOMIN).
Strengthening Governance and Economic Development
Through these appointments, the Head of State is continuing his policy of reform and revitalization of public enterprises.
The stated objective is to improve governance, strengthen public revenue mobilization, support national entrepreneurship, and promote the emergence of a stronger Congolese middle class.
The newly appointed officials are now expected to deliver concrete results in their respective sectors, at a time when public expectations regarding the efficiency of public services and economic development remain high.
