The proceedings of this economic forum, which over the years has become a major gathering for the business community in the Democratic Republic of Congo, will close on May 22.
DRC Called to Create More Value
In his speech, Daniel Mukoko Samba highlighted the DRC’s strategic position, based on its natural resources, energy potential, and geographical location.
According to him, the country must now increase its participation in global industrial value chains through greater local processing and the gradual development of industrial activities.
The minister also emphasized the creation of skilled jobs, the strengthening of national expertise, and regional economic integration, in line with President Félix Tshisekedi’s vision.
Partnerships for Industrialization
On behalf of the government, the Deputy Prime Minister called for “sustainable and mutually beneficial” partnerships capable of supporting industrialization, skills transfer, and the development of value chains.
He also stressed that stability, peace, and security remain essential to attract investment and strengthen the country’s economic attractiveness.
Kolwezi, a Crossroads for Economic Decision-Makers
This 7th edition of the KBM brings together several delegations, notably from Belgium, Angola, Zambia, South Africa, and Botswana, to discuss issues related to trade, investment, and regional infrastructure.
The welcoming remarks were delivered by the Governor of Lualaba, Fifi Masuka, who welcomed the choice of Kolwezi as the host city for this economic gathering.
